About Petroglyph Beach State Historic Park
At least 40 rock carvings mark this stretch of shoreline, part of a site estimated to be around 8000 years old. The beach holds the densest cluster of Native American petroglyphs found in southeastern Alaska, and the surrounding shore became a designated state historic park in 2000. Visitors can walk the beach to view the carved rock faces along the water's edge.
