About McArthur–Burney Falls Memorial State Park
Burney Falls sits right at the entrance, the feature the park is built around. The land protects the falls along with surrounding terrain used for camping, fishing, watersports, hiking, and horseback riding, and its waters hold bass and trout. As the second oldest park in the California State Parks system, it has been part of that system since 1926. Deer, Steller's jays, woodpeckers, squirrels, and occasionally black bear also live within its grounds.
