About Lake Scott State Park
El Cuartelejo, the only known Indian pueblo in Kansas, sits within this 1,020-acre park surrounding Lake Scott, a spring-fed freshwater lake. The land came to the state in 1928 through a donation from the Herbert Steele family. Recreation here includes camping, hunting, fishing, hiking, boating and picnicking, all built around the lake itself.
