About Aroostook State Park
898 acres of land make up this park, covering Quaggy Jo Mountain and bordering Echo Lake. The mountain's name comes from an altered version of its Native American name, "Qua Qua Jo," meaning twin-peaked, a reference to its double summit. The combination of mountain terrain and lakeside frontage gives visitors both a climb and a shoreline within the same grounds.
