About Bowring Ranch State Historical Park
Three miles north of Merriman, this working ranch tells the story of the Sand Hills cattle industry through the lives of Arthur and Eva Bowring, its former owners. The grounds preserve their home and ranch buildings as evidence of the operation they ran. Visitors can see how the land was worked and lived on rather than just read about it, since the site centers on the couple's actual property near the South Dakota border.
