About Big Bend of the Colorado State Recreation Area
Two thousand one hundred acres of land along the west bank of the Colorado River make up this recreation area, most of it canyons and washes threaded with two miles of shoreline and riparian growth. The land sits directly across the water from Bullhead City, Arizona, about nine miles downstream of Davis Dam, in the river valley near Laughlin. That stretch of shoreline and the surrounding wash terrain are what the park protects and offers to visitors along this bend of the river.
