About Bottomless Lakes State Park
Nine small, deep lakes lie along the eastern escarpment of the Pecos River valley here, giving the park its name. It was the first state park designated in New Mexico, protecting this cluster of lakes as public land. The setting is defined by the sharp drop of the escarpment meeting the Pecos River valley below.
