About Ute Lake State Park
A state-owned dam finished in 1963 without federal money backs up the Canadian River to form the park's reservoir, an 8,200-acre lake sitting at 3,762 feet elevation on New Mexico's eastern plains. The water holds largemouth bass, catfish, crappie and walleye. State Road 540 provides access to the site, which lies two miles west of Logan, New Mexico.
