About Fort Ransom State Park
Homesteader families once worked this stretch of the Sheyenne River Valley, and the park now preserves two of their farms, the Bjone House and the Andrew Sunne farm, as physical reminders of that settlement era. The land sits along the Sheyenne River Valley National Scenic Byway, which runs through the park as one of its featured stops.
