About Benjamin Rush State Park

Poquessing Creek forms the northern edge of this 275-acre tract, with several acres of woodland lining its banks. The land itself remains undeveloped, hosting community gardens said to be among the largest in the world, along with a flying field used by the Northeast Radio Controlled Airplane Club. A proposal has outlined a possible connection to Fairmount Park along with hiking trails, parking areas, and a reforestation project, while keeping the gardens and airfield in place.
