About Caprock Canyons State Park and Trailway
Carved into the eastern edge of the Llano Estacado, this 17,500-acre tract became a state park in 1982 under the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. The land protects a stretch of canyon country along that caprock escarpment. A connected trailway extends beyond the core acreage, giving the park its combined designation as both a state park and a trailway.
