About Antelope Island State Park
Protection here covers the largest of ten islands rising from the Great Salt Lake, a 42 square mile landmass in the lake's southeastern waters. At low water levels the island turns into a peninsula, connecting to the surrounding shoreline rather than standing apart in the lake. The park preserves this shifting landform in its entirety, giving visitors a rare case where the boundary between island and mainland depends on the lake itself.
