About Buffalo Bill State Park
A reservoir formed by the Buffalo Bill Dam on the Shoshone River spreads across the park's grounds, holding water once owned by William "Buffalo Bill" Cody, who founded the nearby town. Visitors can camp, hike, boat, fish, and picnic around the shoreline. The land and water are managed by the Wyoming Division of State Parks and Historic Sites.
