About Edness K. Wilkins State Park
A former rock quarry along the North Platte River, purchased by the state for $380,000, was turned into this 361-acre park honoring Edness Kimball Wilkins, who spent 25 years in the Wyoming state legislature. The Audubon Society has named it an Important Bird Area for its heavy use during spring and fall migrations and its large numbers of common nesting birds. Visitors can picnic, boat, fish, swim, and watch birds along the river.
