About Sinks Canyon State Park
A quarter-mile of the canyon separates the two named features that give this park its purpose: the Sinks, where the Middle Fork of the Popo Agie disappears into limestone, and the Rise, the pool downstream where the water resurfaces. The Wind River Range setting places the park along Wyoming Highway 131, and the Wyoming Division of State Parks and Historic Sites oversees the grounds. The whole preserve centers on this underground river passage rather than any built attraction.
