About Wind Creek State Park
Managed by the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, this 1,445-acre park sits on the western shore of Lake Martin, a 41,000-acre reservoir formed on the Tallapoosa River. The reservoir gives the park its main draw, with the surrounding acreage set aside as public recreation land rather than developed shoreline. Visitors get access to a large body of water bordered by protected park grounds.
