About Chewacla State Park
Civilian Conservation Corps-era development shaped this land into a public recreation area of 696 acres below Interstate 85. Its central feature, the 26-acre Lake Chewacla, supports fishing, swimming, and non-motorized boating. The grounds sit on the far south side of Auburn, giving visitors a body of water and surrounding acreage set aside for outdoor use since 1939.
