About Birch Lake State Recreation Site
Birch Lake holds Arctic char, Arctic grayling, Chinook salmon, coho salmon, and rainbow trout, a mix built up through stocking efforts that began in 1966. Anglers use the lake both from boats and through the ice in winter. The site centers on this stocked fishery rather than other developed attractions.
