About Granite Mountain Hotshots Memorial State Park
Yarnell Hill, the site of the 2013 wildfire, is the ground this park was set aside to honor. It marks the deaths of nineteen members of the Granite Mountain Hotshots crew, who were killed there fighting the fire on June 30 of that year. The park exists specifically as a memorial to those firefighters rather than for any other recreational purpose.
