About Collier-Seminole State Park
6,430 acres of mangrove swamp, cypress swamp, salt marsh, and pine flatwoods make up this preserve of Everglades habitat. It holds a National Historic Mechanical Engineering Landmark, the Bay City Walking Dredge, once used to build the Tamiami Trail through the Everglades. The mangrove river estuaries and surrounding land shelter alligators, ospreys, brown pelicans, wood storks, bald eagles, and Florida black bears.
