About Estero Bay Preserve State Park

Florida designated this land and water as its first aquatic nature preserve, setting aside the bay for protection rather than shoreline development. The preserve covers 10,000 acres spanning 10 miles of Estero Bay, including inlets and islands between Fort Myers and Naples. Activities center on fishing, boating, bicycling, and canoeing through this water-based landscape. Gopher tortoises, fiddler crabs, and bald eagles inhabit the area.
