About Kekaha Kai State Park
Sandy shores stretch across three main coves here: Maniniʻowali at Kua Bay, Makalawena at Puʻu Aliʻi Bay, and Mahaiʻula Bay. The park sits along the north Kona coast of the island of Hawaiʻi and was previously called Kona Coast State Park. Its current name comes from the Hawaiian words ke kaha kai, meaning "the shore line.
