About Beall Woods State Park
Protected for its stands of old-growth timber, 329 of the park's acres carry a state designation as a Natural Area, preserving trees typical of the former Eastern Woodlands ecosystem. The park covers 635 acres in total and borders both the Wabash River and the community of Keensburg. The forest here is made up overwhelmingly of hardwood species, offering a look at a landscape that once covered much of the region.
