About Weldon Springs State Park
550 acres surround Salt Creek in the park's main tract, where a tributary called Weldon Springs was dammed to create Weldon Spring Lake, a reservoir at the center of the property. A second, separate area of the park lies near Monticello, Illinois. The Illinois Department of Natural Resources oversees the grounds.
