A 205-acre lake formed by a dammed creek sits at the center of this park, which straddles the line between Henry and Des Moines counties. The park takes its name from Iowa's state rock, though the mineral itself is rarely found within its boundaries. Visitors curious about geodes can view a display of them at the park office, since digging them out of the ground here is prohibited.
