About Sand Hills State Park
Sand dunes, grasslands, wetlands, and woodlands make up this preserved natural area north of Hutchinson. The mix of terrain supports trails used for both hiking and horseback riding, giving visitors a way to move through the dune and prairie landscape rather than just view it. The land protects a stretch of sandy terrain uncommon in much of the surrounding region.
