About Sanilac Petroglyphs Historic State Park
240 acres of land in Greenleaf Township protect the largest known collection of Native American petroglyphs in Michigan, also known as ezhibiigadek asin. The carvings date to the pre-Columbian era and depict elements of Native American spirituality. A hiking trail with interpretive markers runs through the property along the nearby Cass River, giving visitors a route to view the rock carvings in context.
