A wide sandy beach runs along the edge of this 2500 acre coastal preserve, drawing far fewer crowds than the shoreline's size might suggest. Beyond the sand, the protected land supports numerous wild bird species that can be watched across the changing seasons, making the stretch as much a birding site as a swimming spot.
