About Choke Canyon State Park
Two separate units sit on Choke Canyon Reservoir, giving visitors access to the water from different shorelines. The Calliham Unit covers 1,100 acres and opened in 1987, while the South Shore Unit, in Live Oak County, spans 385 acres and opened a year earlier, in 1986. Both areas are managed by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
