About Garner State Park
Opened in 1941 under management of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, the park covers 1,774 acres along the Frio River near Concan. The river runs through the property, giving the land its defining water feature. Managed continuously by the state agency since its founding, the acreage has remained fixed at that figure since it opened.
