About Resaca de la Palma State Park
A former channel of the Rio Grande, cut off naturally with no inlet or outlet, forms the resaca oxbow lake at the heart of this 1,200 acre tract. Opened to the public in December 2008, it is managed by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and ranks as the largest of three sites belonging to the World Birding Center. The land protects this cut-off waterway and the habitat surrounding it.
