A reservoir formed at the mouth of Ferron Canyon gives this park its setting, with the park sitting at the south end of that water body. The park occupies the canyon mouth itself, placing it where the canyon opens into the surrounding land rather than along a straight shoreline stretch. Millsite Reservoir borders the park directly, making the water the defining physical feature of the grounds.
