About Brunet Island State Park
A 169-acre island in the Chippewa River forms the core of this park, with the balance of its 1,225 acres spread along the east bank. The grounds hold large eastern hemlock trees and support numerous white-tailed deer. The Old Abe State Trail starts within the park and runs south along the riverbank to Chippewa Falls, connecting to Lake Wissota State Park.
