About Lake Wissota State Park
A reservoir formed on the Chippewa River, Lake Wissota, defines the shoreline this 1,062-acre park sits along on its northeast side. The grounds mix pine and hardwood forest with prairie, and boating and fishing draw most visitors to the water. The Old Abe State Trail runs through the park, giving hikers and bikers a 17.5-mile route to Brunet Island State Park.
