About Chattahoochee State Park
Hurricane Michael struck in 2018 and destroyed much of this 596-acre property along Irwin's Mill Creek, leading to its closure. Before the storm, the land sat in the extreme southeast corner of Alabama, right on the Florida border, and was run as a public recreation area rather than by the state itself. Anyone deciding whether to visit should know the site is no longer operating as a result of that damage.
