About Highline Lake State Park
Two lakes make up the park's core: Highline Lake, sitting at 4,702 feet, and Mack Mesa Lake, at 4,728 feet. Birdwatchers can use two migratory waterfowl overlook kiosks to spot great blue heron, white pelicans, and whooping crane. Fishing is permitted year round, and in winter the grounds stay open to snowshoers and cross country skiers.
