About Vega State Park
Built through a partnership between the state and the Bureau of Reclamation, the park surrounds Vega Reservoir behind the Vega Dam, both completed as part of the same project. The reservoir sits at 7,696 feet on the northeast edge of Grand Mesa National Forest and draws anglers for its fishing. Spanning 1,823 acres, the park supports boating, hiking, snowmobiling and camping across the seasons.
