About Rifle Gap State Park

A reservoir covering 360 acres anchors this 1,341-acre park, formed when the surrounding land was set aside for public use in 1966. The shoreline mixes pinyon-juniper woodland and sagebrush shrubland with pockets of deciduous riparian forest, terrain that supports mule deer, elk, and great horned owls. Visitors can reach the water by boat ramp, and the grounds include a visitors center along with campgrounds and picnic sites.
