About Addison Blockhouse Historic State Park

A coquina rock ruin standing on the grounds once belonged to a 19th-century plantation, where it served both as a kitchen and a fort. The structure, known as the Addison Blockhouse, is small in scale and remains the central feature protected within the park. Its dual past as a domestic building and a defensive post reflects the plantation era in which it was built.
