About Cockroach Bay Preserve State Park

A series of barrier and river islands mark the mouth of the Little Manatee River where it meets the southeastern shore of Tampa Bay. These 615 acres are reachable only by water and sit within the surrounding Cockroach Bay Aquatic Preserve, which protects the islands and the waters around them from further shoreline development.
