About Jonathan Dickinson State Park
The Loxahatchee River, a designated National Wild and Scenic River since 1985, cuts through this park's mix of sand pine scrub, pine flatwoods, mangroves, and river swamps. The grounds hold the Elsa Kimbell Environmental Education and Research Center, sit along the Ocean to Lake Trail, and include the Camp Murphy Mountain Bike Trails. The site is also recognized for its historic value, tied to a former World War II-era Army training camp on the property.
