About Savannas Preserve State Park

Stretching along a significant portion of the Atlantic Coast between Fort Pierce and Jensen Beach, this preserve protects one of the largest remaining freshwater marsh systems on Florida's east coast. The land here forms part of a chain of wetlands that once ran nearly continuous along the shoreline. A group of young volunteers, the Junior Friends of Savannas Preserve State Park, supports the site's upkeep and programs.
