About Little Talbot Island State Park

An entire barrier island, 2,500 acres in size, makes up this park, with Big Talbot Island State Park sitting immediately to its north. Maritime forests, dunes, and salt marshes cover the western side, home to river otters, marsh rabbits, bobcats, and native and migrating birds. Visitors can camp, fish, hike, swim, canoe, watch wildlife, or surf. Erosion on the neighboring island and sand buildup here have made Little Talbot the larger of the two islands.
