About Reed Bingham State Park
A 375-acre lake forms the center of this 1,613-acre park, drawing visitors from across southern Georgia. The Coastal Plains Nature Trail runs 3.5 miles through a baldcypress swamp, a pitcher plant bog, and a sandhill area, terrain that shelters the threatened gopher tortoise and the indigo snake. The park carries the name of Amos Reed Bingham, who helped bring about its creation, and it offers camping and fishing, including ponds set aside for children on certain dates.
