About Massacre Rocks State Park
Rock formations along the Snake River mark the spot where the Oregon Trail and California Trail once passed through, giving the park its name. Rock Creek also runs through the grounds, adding a second waterway to the landscape. The area's focus is historical, preserving the trail corridor used by mid-19th century emigrants heading west.
