About Fort Harrison State Park

The grounds occupy part of the former Fort Benjamin Harrison military post, land that once held a Citizens' Military Training Camp, a Civilian Conservation Corps camp, and a World War II prisoner of war camp. Picnic grounds and walking and jogging trails cross the property, with one path linking to the Fall Creek Greenway. Nearly 900,000 people visit each year.
