About Chemin-A-Haut State Park
A high bluff runs above the winding curves of Bayou Bartholomew, giving much of the 503-acre grounds its shape and views. The name comes from the French phrase for "High Road," a reference to that same bluff terrain. It was among the first tracts added to the Louisiana State Park system, making it one of the older parks in that network.
