About Quoddy Head State Park
541 acres of land occupy the easternmost point in the continental United States, a distinction tied to this park alone. Purchased by the state in 1962, the property holds five miles of hiking trails through forests and two bogs supporting rare plant habitat. Its best-known landmark is the red-and-white striped tower of West Quoddy Head Light, standing at that far edge of the country.
