The hills within the park rise between 6,000 and 6,900 feet above sea level, forming the terrain that the trail network winds through. Several hiking trails cross this landscape, giving visitors a way to move through the elevation changes on foot. A visitors' center serving the park sits in the nearby village of Los Cerrillos, distinct from the park's own grounds.
