Fire Island Inlet stretches out from the park's southern edge, with views across to the westernmost section of Fire Island. The 340-acre park sits at the easternmost tip of Jones Beach Island, south of Captree Island, spanning land within both the towns of Babylon and Islip. Its position places it at the meeting point of barrier island and inlet waters.
